Accessibility

Last updated 4 September 2026

Selah is meant to be read by anyone who wants a few quiet minutes with a prayer and Scripture, and that includes people who use assistive technology. Shoshin Systems aims for Selah to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, which is also the standard behind the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549).

What is in place

  • Text and background contrast is checked to meet AA in every one of the six themes, in both their day and night settings.
  • Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, and the element you are on always shows a visible focus outline.
  • A “skip to content” link is the first thing keyboard and screen-reader users reach.
  • Headings are in order, form fields have real labels, and buttons and links say what they do.
  • The one entrance animation is disabled automatically when your system is set to “reduce motion”.
  • Selah follows your system light or dark setting unless you choose a theme yourself.
  • The layout stays readable down to a 320-pixel-wide screen and when you increase the browser or system text size.
  • Signing in uses a normal password (with password-manager and passkey autofill); there is no puzzle or image CAPTCHA to solve.

Known limitations

  • Selah needs JavaScript for the interactive parts (marking a day, switching themes). Reading today’s prayer and verse works without it.
  • Installing Selah to your home screen depends on your browser’s own install prompt, which varies between browsers and platforms.
  • Selah has not yet had a formal audit by an external accessibility specialist. The statements above are based on Shoshin Systems’s own testing.

Telling us about a problem

If something in Selah is hard to use with your assistive technology, or a page does not work the way this statement describes, please write to replayhubunlimited@gmail.com. Say which page and what happened, and Shoshin Systems will get back to you and fix what can be fixed.
