How Selah works
One reading a day
Selah follows a fixed 365-day cycle, so the prayer and verse you open today are the same for everyone using the app that day. There is nothing to choose and nothing to catch up on — you come back tomorrow for the next one.
Mark it, or don’t
When you have prayed, you tap once and Selah adds the day to a quiet tally of the days you have kept. It never asks twice and it never sends a reminder that nags; a missed day just resets the count and re-invites you.
Write your own
Selah includes a private prayer journal: the reflection question at the end of each reading opens a new entry, and everything you write there is visible only to you. It is a prayer journal app and a daily devotional in one place.
Works offline
Because each day’s verse is saved in the app the first time you open it, Selah works offline — the reading loads with no connection, which matters when you pray first thing in the morning or last thing at night on a weak signal.
Install it
Selah installs to your home screen straight from your browser’s menu and opens like a native app, so there is nothing to download from an app store and no update to keep on top of.

- Is Selah free?
- Yes. Selah is free to use and has no subscription or in-app purchases, because it runs on one small shared server with no paid infrastructure behind it.
- Does Selah work offline?
- Yes. Once you have opened a day's reading, its verse is stored in the app itself, so the prayer and Scripture load with no connection.
- Who writes the prayers?
- Every prayer in Selah is written in-house in one consistent voice, not collected from existing devotionals or generated by a language model.
- Do I need an account?
- You need a free account to save your prayer journal and the days you have kept. Today's prayer and verse can be read without signing in.
- Is my prayer journal private?
- Yes. Journal entries are visible only to you, are never sold or shared, and can be deleted along with your account at any time.
